Power Tools - What do we use?

Trades all over the world are reliant, dependant and in many cases addicted to the inanimate objects we call power tools. An essential for any trade and a valued addition to the tool boxes of your avid DIY'er.

They come in all shapes, sizes, specifications, colours, power levels and costs and choosing the right tool for the job could be as simple as wiping milk off the top of you lip or as challenging as catching the seagull responsible to knocking the ice cream out your hand as you take your first step onto the beach on a hot day.

As electricians, the range of tools we need to do a good job is wide, with every tool being as important as the other at different stages of the job. From tightening and loosening screws to Testing data lines or cutting backing boards to soldering led strips, we have to be prepared for as many scenarios as possible.

So I have created a list of some of the more important tools we have on our vans that allow us to be prepared for most scenarios.

  A must in any professional or DIY tool box. Dewalt is the brand we have gone for as its affordable and well built. You may have other ideas, just be sure to look around and make your mind up as once you choose, that's pretty much you for life.

  Used more often than you think. coupled with either a 4/5ah battery (https://amzn.to/3BdC7ki / https://amzn.to/3BslWPY). it offers enough power to do most jobs.
